Making “HOME” a SAFER PLACE
Every Christmas, we dedicate our holiday card to raising awareness for a local cause or charity in need. This year, we knew we wanted to put our focus on domestic violence, which has become an even greater problem during the pandemic. Our “hidden message” card is a creative reminder that, like COVID-19, domestic violence can be hiding right next door. It encourages our community to take an active role in helping those around them find safety and love this holiday season and beyond.

THE CAUSE
Being isolated from friends and family during the pandemic is hard for everyone. But for the 1 in 4 people living with domestic violence, things at home are much scarier. They’re trapped, cut off from their support systems and feeling more alone than ever. Thankfully, the Fort Wayne Center for Nonviolence provides the education, support and advocacy our community needs to help end domestic violence.
GET INVOLVED
While you’re spending more time at home, listen for signs of violence next door. Check in with loved ones. And become a safe place for someone who has nowhere else to turn. Together, we can help make “home” a safer place to be. Visit Centerfornv.org for more ways to help.
